The Chronic Syn Story
Bassist Andy Lucibello called his old friend and guitarist Michel, and said,
"Why don't we form a band and practice whole songs instead of just jamming at our parties? I met this cool guy Laurent on the train who sings and plays saxophone, and I know this other cool guy John who sings and plays trumpet. That's the start of a band!"
Michel of course loved the idea, and then one day Andy brought in guitarist Andy Walsh, we made instant great music, and so we asked him to join us. We tried out a bunch of drummers, but it didn't click until Darek sat down at his drums and began to play, and the rest was magic!
As soon as we started practicing our songs (our own originals), friends started coming over to watch, and often to play, and that's how we met Andy Berian, who plays brilliant keyboards and guitars. He was our third Andy so we called him Cube - for Andy3 (Andy Cubed). Andy Walsh was Andy2 (Andy Squared) but we never called him Square!
Kathy Sheppard is one of those friends who had jammed with us, and we asked her to record piano for us on No. 3, and she also contributed its organ and calliope.
Mojo is Laurent's dog - a beagle. He wanted so much to sing during the recording sessions, that we finally gave him a few lines in No. 3, and discovered that he barks just as well in English as he does in French!
